Quentin Tarantino Cinema Speculation Film Series to Kickoff March 25th at Paragon Theaters Pavilion.

David Garonzik was struck by Collier County’s rich cultural scene when visiting with his family in January of 2021. However, he also took notice of what he viewed as a surprising gap in the area’s arts offerings: an outlet for the presentation of vintage films.

Film Noir. For even casual film watchers, the phrase evokes visions of the hard-bitten private eye as protagonist, femme fatales, compromised cops, gangsters, and guns, and the genre’s other hallmarks, including a starkly lit, shadowy, black-and-white presentation.

Marco Island Center for the Arts is adding a “Film Noir” series to its 2024 lineup of events. In partnership with Naples Cinematheque, the Art Center is set to present curated classic films.

Pop-up Naples Cinematheque wants to be put on the map as a unique film-viewing experience. This innovative pop-up movie theater lets viewers see both classic motion pictures and the teams behind the films. David Garonzik shows the films at various locations throughout Collier County. That’s temporary. He’s bringing his idea of showing and discussing pop-culture films to a permanent theater soon.

David Garonzik sees the future of the cinema in its past. He wants Naples to see it, too, in a place he feels was made for it. Garonzik and his business partner, his wife, Cecilia, are proposing a boutique cinema on the southeast corner of Thomasson and Bayshore drives that will specialize in vintage and personally curated films.
